When something becomes broken beyond repair \u2013 its unmanageable, too much to bear. As i experience what is happening in our country on all levels, it feels like so much brokenness. It feels unmanageable. And I try to remember Butterflies.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe purpose of the life of every Butterfly is to set everything that was once known aside and to embrace an entire new way of being.\u201d&nbsp; transcendence is the symbolic meaning of the butterfly \u2013 even in transcending sorrow into nutrients.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Can I take the sorrow and let it become nutrients for the soil of change? Can I hold the sorrow long enough to let it burn the old and use the ashes to cultivate the new? Can I be in the uncomfortable smallness of the cocoon long enough to allow it to enter deeply into my being and re-birth something new. I\u2019d like to come out on the other side of the corona virus, the racial tension, and the economic downturn with a new set of eyes. A new way of living. With new wings.Taking the sorrow, pain and brokenness, and allowing it to burn and cultivate in me the ability to embrace an entirely new way of being the change I want to see in the world.
